The space

Engigarður cottage is nearly 100 years old as it was originally built in 1925, so it is a small cottage of 57 square meters on two floors, big enough for four people. Its traditional style reflects old Icelandic farmhouses. When you enter the house you enter a small hall, with doors to the small bathroom and the living room. The bedrooms are upstairs and the stair is a bit narrow and steep as is common in houses of this age and style.

Detailed description: The house is white, with red roof, white windows and red door. You enter the house through a small hallway with a coat rack. The bathroom which is on the right is small, but still has a shower, wc, sink, window and warm towel rack. The open space living room&kitchen is on the left side. The living room has a TV and a 2-3 seating sofa, kitchen is fully equipped (fridge, microvawe, stove, oven, glassware, pots and pan, dishwasher), table and 4 chairs, stair to the bedrooms is a located next to the kitchen. The upper floor has two bedrooms, each with two single beds, bedside table with a lamp, chair, coat rack and a good wardrobe. Baby cot is stored in the wardrobe and high chair is in the cupboard downstairs.

Guest access

Timber deck in front of house and the open area behind the house are available for our guests. During summer guests can use the small table and chairs on the timber deck. The space behind the house provides direct access to the hill where the church is located, great views over Vík and the beach.

Guests can park on the gravel directly in front of the house.

Other things to note

The house is an old timber house and we do not allow smoking on the premises due to risk of fire and inconvenience for other guests. If we find out that guests have been smoking we will allow our self the right to charge for additional costs of cleaning the house and linen.
